Vintage glass offers an extraordinary range of colour, texture and form. Throughout the twentieth century, glassmakers across Britain and Europe produced everything from elegant hand-blown vessels to expressive mid-century designs and bold sculptural pieces created to transform with the light.
This collection may include vintage art glass vases, mid-century glass, coloured jugs, bowls, decanters, candleholders and decorative vessels. Look out for Scandinavian glass, Czech and Bohemian glass, Italian Murano glass, British studio glass, cranberry glass and striking designs from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Nordic glass produced some of the twentieth century’s most influential designers. Important names include Tapio Wirkkala, Timo Sarpaneva and Oiva Toikka for Finland’s Iittala; Sven Palmqvist, Nils Landberg and Vicke Lindstrand for Sweden’s Orrefors; and Erik Höglund and Bertil Vallien for Kosta Boda.
